Process
What will we do?
We will follow a repeating process, allowing us to understand, take action, review and adapt to your health and lifestyle needs throughout the time that we work together.
The Steps in Detail
-
Get in touch to ask any questions you may have (no costs for this).
-
Aim: for me to get a deep understanding of your health, your lifestyle and your goals.
You’ll provide me with some basic information about you before we meet.
We’ll meet for a chat where I’ll start getting to know you and your health. I’ll ask you to talk about different aspects of your health, goals, aspirations and your life more broadly. I will not be judging you; I’m just looking to understand how I can best help you.
I offer in-person appointments for those living in and around the Vale of Belvoir, locations such as Nottingham, Grantham, Newark, and Melton Mowbray. Otherwise we’ll chat via online video.
For in-person appointments, I can also offer a review of your kitchen environment to understand how your current layout and routines are helping or hindering your health.
Based on our chat and my initial assessment of your needs, I may ask you to complete a few questionnaires and tasks at home so I can get a deeper understanding of you and your lifestyle.
Questionnaires could be in relation to your eating, exercise, sleeping, lifestyle, personality type, and/or underlying values and drivers.
-
Aim: to analyse your current health and lifestyle, and to propose a plan of action.
I will analyse all information you’ve given me to form my initial assessment of your lifestyle, to identify key initial areas to improve, and to propose a plan for change.
I will use scientific evidence around nutrition, physical activity, sleep and behavioural science to assess how we can improve your health - not via an ‘off-the-shelf’ approach, but via a personalised prescription based on your capabilities, opportunities available to you and motivations.
I will also use AI software to check and add to my own assessment and prescription, to check my reasoning and ensure you’re getting the best advice possible.
I will share this plan with you via email and then we will have a call or in-person meeting to discuss and refine it based on your thoughts.
We will also agree your incremental health-related targets that, when you achieve them, will provide you with a discounted price on my services per hour (see ‘How much does it cost?’ information).
-
Aim: to help you make changes to your lifestyle to start improving your health.
Your plan will involve changing parts of your life in relation to your nutrition, physical activity, sleep and/or receiving talking support from me.
I will guide you through how best to make these changes so that they become a new ingrained habit. We’ll start with a few key changes, and as these new behaviours become normalised, we’ll add more changes into the mix to continue making lasting improvements to your health.
I will be alongside you every step of the way, suggesting check-in meets, calls or texts to provide you with further guidance, encouragement and accountability.
-
Aim: to support you through changes in your life that affect your health.
Life throws us different and difficult times to deal with along the way, and these can affect your health.
Working with me over the long term will ensure that we can react to any changes that happen in your life that might need us to reconsider your current approach to health.
Whether it’s new life stressors, injury or ailments, or a change in time flexibility or motivation, we will work alongside these life changes, adapting your plan and ensuring that we can continue to optimise your health.
